Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Workshop Team Leader to join a well-established and expanding manufacturing business. You will be responsible for leading a team of workshop operatives, ensuring daily targets are met while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. The role involves hands-on support, coordinating workflow, allocating tasks, and ensuring workshop operations run smoothly. You will act as the first point of contact for the team, supporting training, problem-solving, and continuous improvement. You will be working in a fast-paced environment where leadership, organisation, and strong communication skills are essential.

Job Responsibility:

  • Leading and supervising workshop staff to achieve daily production targets
  • Coordinating workloads, delegating tasks, and monitoring performance
  • Supporting hands-on workshop and assembly tasks when required
  • Ensuring all work is completed to company quality standards
  • Training and developing team members to improve skills and performance
  • Maintaining high standards of Health & Safety and workplace organisation
  • Reporting production issues, progress, and KPI performance to management
  • Ensuring materials, tools, and equipment are available and used correctly
  • Supporting continuous improvement throughout the workshop

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a Team Leader, Supervisor, or Senior Operative role
  • Background in workshop, manufacturing, or engineering environments
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to motivate and support a team
  • Good problem-solving skills and proactive attitude
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines
  • Organised, reliable, and confident managing multiple tasks
