FM Conway is looking for a Workshop Team Leader to take charge of our busy workshop operations, overseeing all aspects of plant maintenance, repairs, and inspections across our diverse fleet. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment is maintained to the highest standards, leading the workshop team, and supporting the smooth and efficient running of our plant operations. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Dartford, Kent.
Job Responsibility:
Managing and overseeing all plant workshop staff, equipment, and daily work activities
Creating job cards in Freeway, allocate tasks to staff, and review asset history to identify required maintenance, services, or inspections
Monitoring workshop and staff efficiency by reviewing job card accuracy
Ensuring all plant is maintained to a high standard to minimise maintenance-related breakdowns
Reviewing and challenging spare parts requests to confirm they are necessary and justified
Liaising with the Parts Department regarding outstanding parts and delivery timelines
Identifying potential warranty issues and support discussions with manufacturers to progress claims
Requirements:
Full UK driving licence
City & Guilds Levels 1, 2, and 3 or an equivalent vehicle maintenance qualification
Strong technical knowledge of a wide range of plant and small tools (pavers, planers, excavators, telehandlers, compressors, rollers)
Excellent communication skills
Ability to liaise effectively with colleagues and customers
