Job Description:

Opcare, part of the AM Healthcare, is the largest supplier of prosthetic and orthotic services to the NHS. The role is based in a purpose-built facility in Cambridge, with an on-site workshop providing a collaborative working approach to device design and manufacture, requiring a leader to support with training, development and technical skills.

Job Responsibility:

To oversee the preparation and assembly / building of medical devices as required by the Prosthetist in Cambridge according to the requirements of the Prescription or Works Order
To ensure prostheses or orthoses issued to patients are functioning satisfactorily and provided in a timely manner
Ensuring correct materials / components are ordered and issued for the job and that appropriate tools are available
To liaise with key clinical stakeholders to address identified quality problems and assist in providing effective solutions, thus minimizing unnecessary wastage and delay
Ensure manufacturing activities are undertaken in compliance to company / site H&S and Quality procedures & regulations
Assist training and the development of newly recruited technicians and develop multi-skilling within the workshop as identified with Technicians and the Clinical Lead Prosthetist

Requirements:

Significant experience in the manufacture of prosthetic devices for use by amputees
Experience in training, coaching and mentoring teams to achieve excellent outcomes
Computer literacy and the ability to effectively operate nominated computer systems
Knowledge of the health and safety and quality requirements of a workshop environment
Operates with a level of professionalism commensurate with a healthcare environment
Full DBS clearance
Good hand skills
Technical understanding of prosthetic device function

Nice to have:

Experience as a Workshop Manager within a Prosthetics workshop
Management qualification
