Job Description:

This position involves managing day-to-day workshop operations and leading a team of fabricators and welders. You will oversee scheduling, compliance, and the delivery of projects while mentoring your team and liaising with company directors.

Job Responsibility:

  • Deliver projects on time and to required quality standards
  • Manage and enhance daily operations and team performance
  • Drive improvements to systems and processes
  • Ensure compliance with OHS and reporting obligations
  • Manage day-to-day workshop operations
  • Lead a team of fabricators and welders
  • Oversee scheduling, compliance, and the delivery of projects
  • Mentor team
  • Liaise with company directors

Requirements:

  • Qualified boilermaker, welder or fabricator
  • Demonstrated workshop leadership experience
  • Experience with ERP systems and production schedules
  • Ability to manage and train a team
  • OHS and compliance understanding
  • Experience with ITPs, MDRs, and inspection processes
  • Strong problem-solving and attention to detail

  • Perform high-quality welds on materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloys, using processes such as MMA, TIG, and MIG/MAG (as applicable)
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, isometrics, and fabrication specifications
  • Undertake fabrication, cutting, prepping, grinding, and finishing work to required standards
  • Conduct weld repairs in line with procedures and client requirements
  • Ensure all welding is completed in compliance with relevant industry codes, standards, and project specifications (e.g., BS EN ISO standards)
  • Complete all necessary weld logs, documentation, and traceability records accurately
  • Participate in welding tests, re-coding, and ongoing qualification renewals
  • Work in accordance with quality management systems and contribute to continuous improvement
  • Comply with company and site HSE requirements at all times
