The Workday Technology Manager leads a team of Workday technologists and is accountable for the strategy, delivery, and continuous optimization of Workday Reporting, Workday Prism Analytics, Workday Integrations, and Workday Extend solutions. This role provides both strategic oversight and hands-on technical leadership, ensuring Workday capabilities align with evolving business needs, scale effectively, and adhere to best practices for security, data governance, and system performance. The ideal candidate blends deep Workday technical expertise with strong people leadership, cross-functional partnership, and a continuous improvement mindset. This role plans, prioritizes, and executes Workday initiatives sponsored by senior leadership, focusing on technology-driven solutions that enhance system functionality and enterprise reporting.
Job Responsibility:
Lead the scope, design, and delivery of Workday Extend solutions to meet HR business needs
Manage demand intake, prioritization, and delivery timelines across multiple Workday workstreams
Provide day-to-day leadership for the HRIS technology team, ensuring high-quality delivery
Architect, design, and develop custom applications using Workday Extend
Establish and maintain governance standards for reporting, analytics, integrations, and Extend development
Communicate project status, risks, and outcomes clearly to senior leaders and stakeholders
Foster a collaborative, accountable, and customer-focused culture
Act as a process improvement champion across HR technology operations
Partner with IT and Payroll teams to align on integrations, shared systems, and security roles
Support Workday releases and upgrades, including testing and rollout planning
Provide operational HRIS support as needed
Proactively identify and mitigate project risks and delivery challenges
Serve as a trusted advisor and SME for HR technology
Act as liaison between HR, IT, Payroll/Finance, and business partners
Stay current on HR technology trends, regulatory changes, and Workday roadmap
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience
8+ years of HRIS technical experience, including extensive hands-on expertise with: Workday HCM, HRIS system design, Calculated fields, Complex Workday configurations, Business processes and dashboard development
5+ years implementing, supporting, or operating Workday HCM
Strong understanding of enterprise HR systems, data structures, and end-to-end data flows
Designed, built, and supported 75+ Workday integrations
Developed 5+ Workday Extend applications and Orchestrate integrations
2+ years of statistical or data analysis experience, including advanced reporting and dashboard development using: Workday Report Writer, Calculated Fields, Advanced Microsoft Excel
Extensive experience building and maintaining: Advanced Workday reports, Dashboards, Scorecards, Composite and matrix reports, Workday Hubs
Designed, built, and maintained 3+ Workday Prism Analytics use cases
Hands-on technical experience with Workday Extend application development and model components
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously
Proven decision-making skills balancing business needs, timelines, and technology roadmaps
Innovative mindset with the ability to challenge existing approaches and introduce new solutions
