We invite a WinDev Developer to join our team for a short-term contract cooperation. We are looking for a developer to join a strategic project modernizing the infrastructure of a key legacy application. Our client operates a legacy WinDev application used daily by ~2,000 customers via Citrix. A new web version is being redeveloped on AWS, but full customer migration will take 3–5 years. To unlock cloud benefits and funding now, we are starting an intermediate phase: migrating the existing WinDev application from Citrix to Amazon AppStream 2.0. This is not a full rewrite, but a targeted adaptation—we are building a “cloud bridge” to quickly move away from Citrix while staying aligned with the long-term architecture.
Job Responsibility:
Migrate the legacy application from Citrix to Amazon AppStream 2.0 without a full functional rewrite
Perform targeted refactoring to eliminate Citrix dependencies: implement local printing functionality (replacing Citrix Universal Printer), adapt hard-coded file paths and Citrix-specific integrations (~2,200 occurrences), enable file exchange between the AppStream environment and local workstations
Ensure a seamless transition for end-users: the remote application must work as it did on Citrix
Support documentation and processes
Requirements:
Experience working with Windows legacy applications (WinDev)
Understanding of virtual desktop/workstation principles (Citrix, Amazon AppStream 2.0, RDS)
Skills in debugging and adapting code related to printing, file systems, and network resources
Ability to work with AWS (AppStream 2.0)
Comfort working within an existing codebase and identifying change points without full refactoring
What we offer:
A competitive salary
Well-defined development processes and methodologies
Involvement in a comprehensive migration project with tangible business impact
Hands-on experience with AWS technologies and influence on architectural decisions
Clear project scope: no vague refactoring, only targeted changes for compatibility
A project with a clear outcome: decommissioning Citrix, reducing costs, utilizing AWS infrastructure
