Job Description:

Direct staff and serve guest needs by providing exceptional knowledge of food and beverage menu items as well as information regarding preparation methods while ensuring guest satisfaction. This role is part of Western Restaurant department, reporting into Western Restaurant Manager.

Job Responsibility:

  • The ability to offer guests an enjoyable, expertly served beverage/dining experience conforming to Four Seasons standards of excellence for quality, professionalism and friendliness
  • The ability to anticipate and service of guests’ requirements before requests are necessary
  • The ability to serve and clear food and beverage items in an unobtrusive and professional manner
  • The ability to be familiar with the wine list and in wine and beverage service including stemware used and appropriate garnishes
  • The ability to complete opening and closing side work as assigned and have all tables set according to standard
  • The ability to present menus and explanations for all menu items as well as specials of the day
  • The ability to present children's menus, when appropriate, and describe specials and Alternative Cuisine
  • The ability to utilize the hotel's computer system ringing up sales, printing checks, closing checks and completing closing readings
  • The ability to carry trays, bus and reset tables with linen, China, glass and silver
  • The ability to ascertain a guest's satisfaction and handle any problem, which may arise informing a manager of the problem and how it was resolved
  • The ability to report any accident immediately, no matter how minor, to a manager
  • The ability to recognize and address potential intoxicated disruptive or undesirable guests
  • The ability to respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation
  • The ability to answer telephones according to Four Seasons' standards and take reservations or provide information regarding the lounge or any other hotel service
  • The ability to greet each guest promptly, courteously, graciously with eye contact, a smile and good posture
  • The ability to recognize regular guests and to greet them by their name
  • The ability to use guest names for all guests as guest name becomes known

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in related position with Four Seasons or other organization
  • Being calm and patient and be of service passion. Team player. Being fair and responsible. Be passion and love working
  • Requires a working knowledge of the Food & Beverage aspect of Four Seasons services, policies or operations and general knowledge of the hotel
  • Requires knowledge or the ability to operate computer equipment including word processing and spreadsheet software
  • Logic, eye for details, approachable and willing to help
  • Has a working knowledge of Four Seasons cultural and core standards, policies, and standard operating procedures
  • Is proactive, hands on and able to operate autonomously
  • Requires reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English and Chinese language
  • Has a positive attitude with a generous and uplifting team approach
