Web Developer

• Develop and maintain custom websites and themes from scratch adhering to best practices and company standards with a particular focus on WordPress development
• Build and customize modules and WordPress plugins to extend site functionality as required by clients
• Collaborate closely with designers, developers, and project managers to deliver high-quality, scalable web solutions
• Create responsive, user-friendly web interfaces using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
• Develop utilizing WordPress-specific tools and elements such as ACF, custom post types, and taxonomies
• Integrate modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React / Vue.js) with WordPress to create dynamic, interactive features
• Utilize RESTful APIs, including the WordPress REST API, to develop decoupled web applications and enhance site functionality
• Maintain and optimize WordPress websites for speed, SEO, accessibility (WCAG compliance), and cross-browser compatibility
• Conduct thorough testing and debugging of websites, including WordPress plugin and theme compatibility checks
• Stay updated with the latest developments in the web world, with a focus on WordPress core, plugins, and tools to ensure sites leverage current technologies effectively
• Provide technical guidance and support to non-technical team members and clients as needed.

• Proven expertise in WordPress development and front-end technologies, including custom themes, plugins, and ACF integrations, demonstrated by a strong portfolio of development projects
• Proficiency in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, with familiarity in frameworks like React or Vue.js
• Familiarity with modern build tools and workflows, including Gulp, Webpack, npm, and Git version control
• Experience with WordPress-specific tools such as custom post types, taxonomies, hooks, filters, and the WordPress REST API
• Strong understanding of WordPress architecture, database structure, and optimization techniques
• Solid understanding of web best practices, including responsive design, SEO, and WCAG accessibility standards
• Ability to write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code tailored for WordPress environments
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and debug WordPress-specific issues effectively
• Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent professional experience
• Availability to be on-site in Roselle, IL, for four days a week.

Experience working with headless WordPress setups or integrating WordPress with other platforms via APIs is a plus.
