Job Description:

The successful applicant will be expected to lead, manage and be responsible for all aspects of the development, maintenance and enhancement of the Cancer Survival Group’s (CSG) web resources and administrative databases. As a key member of the Group, based in the Department of Non-communicable Disease Epidemiology, the post-holder will support the work of Professor Michel Coleman and Professor Claudia Allemani in ensuring that the CSG’s research outputs are accessible, accurate and efficiently managed.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead, manage and be responsible for all aspects of the development, maintenance and enhancement of the Cancer Survival Group’s (CSG) web resources and administrative databases
  • Support the work of Professor Michel Coleman and Professor Claudia Allemani in ensuring that the CSG’s research outputs are accessible, accurate and efficiently managed
  • Collaborate with DELL Technologies to design and implement interactive, user-friendly web pages, providing customised access to the Group’s research results and a freely available library of over 28,000 lifetables for net survival analysis
  • Develop tools to monitor and analyse web usage

Requirements:

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or a related subject
  • Proven experience in database development and maintenance in a professional context
  • Strong technical skills
  • Problem-solving ability
  • Proactive approach to improving data and web processes
