BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is looking for a dynamic, results driven individual to join as a Warehouse Team Leader at the new production plant in Viana, Portugal. The role involves leading a team on the night shift, focusing on safety, quality, cost, delivery, and motivation within a clean, energy-efficient propulsion systems manufacturing environment.
Job Responsibility:
Coordinate the activities of the team members including the assignment of tasks and logistics objectives
Train new members (safety rules, equipment operation, cleaning, 5S, incoming/outbound procedures)
Train all employees for each warehouse area to certification level
Facilitate continuous improvement within the team focusing on safety, quality, cost, delivery, and motivation
Actively participate in problem solving (8D, 6M, 5 Whys)
Conduct daily meetings with team members and facilitate communication between shifts
Support and implement production tools (Visual support, JIT, 5S, Kanban)
Responsible process control using tools: Preventive Maintenance, Poka-yoke Control, Startup Checklist, LPA
Lead, motivate and support the development of team members
Provide initial support for operators' personal issues (absences, vacations, personal problems)
Lead data/information collection for warehouse procedures
Ensure adherence to control plans by conducting daily audits
Support Engineering and Production in development and validation phases (run@rate, PPAP)
Responsible for Inbound and Outbound Warehouse activities and team management
Define a rotating schedule for teams between processes
Define needs for different processes and present resources analysis
Manage team needs for machine operation certification (forklifts)
Establish continuous improvement plans
Facilitate efficient and open communication within and between departments
Ensure compliance with safety and cleanliness rules
Continuously improve health, safety and environmental conditions
Participate in policy definition, implementation and maintenance
Participate in defining objectives of Environmental, Health and Safety policies
Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety standards
Develop a culture of good professional ethics and involvement
Comply with organization's rules and internal regulations
Perform other tasks as required by service needs
Requirements:
Secondary Education, preferably with technical-professional training, or a degree in engineering or a related field
Previous experience in a similar role (experience in automotive environment will be valued)
Experience in managing team with at least 30 people will be valued
Knowledge and experience on automated material handling equipment’s such as forklifts (valid certification for SAFE HANDLING OF FORKLIFT TRUCK TRAINING preferred)
