Job Description:

We are looking for a VP of Global YouTube to join our team. This position is fixed term contract for 16 months. We’re building for the future with a focus on AI-native strategies and deeper integration with YouTube’s evolving platform capabilities — from Shorts to premium content — unlocking new creative formats, fan engagement opportunities, and long-term value for our artists.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead BMG's innovative global YouTube team across our offices in LA, New York, Nashville, London and Berlin
  • Manage and develop BMG's global YouTube commercial partnership across all partnership levels and teams
  • Stay ahead of YouTube’s evolving ecosystem by understanding and leveraging emerging tools like Veo2, AI-generated playlists, and Gemini — using them to shape strategy, content formats, and campaign execution that drive discovery, engagement, and revenue for artists
  • Develop strategies for premium and alternative content across different formats (e.g. long-form and short-form), rosters (catalogue and frontline) and based on audience consumption by device
  • Drive growth through deep, strategic collaboration with global content owners—record labels and publishers—while working in lockstep with repertoire teams across multiple territories to elevate release strategies and execute culturally impactful campaigns
  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders across departments, e.g. repertoire, marketing, data and digital management teams as well as supply chain, finance and royalties to determine areas of platform performance improvement and growth
  • Provide strategic guidance and hands-on leadership to ensure partnership initiatives are not only aligned with business goals, but executed with clarity, accountability, and measurable impact across teams
  • Leverage data and performance tools to actively monitor account health, drive accountability, and surface actionable growth opportunities—translating insights into strategy that delivers measurable results
  • Track streaming performance across markets, projects, and catalog on a daily basis—translating trends into clear, actionable recommendations that drive momentum and deliver results
  • Stay ahead of platform updates, feature rollouts, algorithm shifts, and emerging trends—ensuring we’re not just reacting to change but anticipating it, so our strategies remain competitive, culturally relevant, and built to perform

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience working within the world of YouTube or in a similar position across business development, commercial music licensing, global digital music publishing, social media or gaming platforms
  • AI-proficient and/or savvy
  • Champion a deeper understanding of artists and audience behavior by translating complex data into sharp, actionable insights
  • Build clarity through high-impact storytelling—leveraging dashboards, reporting, and creative analysis to influence platform strategy, partner alignment, and artist outcomes
  • Proven experience leading and developing a diverse and/or geographically dispersed teams
  • Proven experience in partner relationship across any social or commercial platform
  • Experience in working closely with artists, artist management teams and senior executives
  • Must have strong knowledge in UGC (user-generated content) strategy, claiming and building owned and operated channels
  • Hands-on experience navigating YouTube and/or similar platforms—across both short-form and long-form formats—and understand how to drive growth across multiple commercial models, including AVOD, SVOD, and hybrid monetisation strategies
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing high performing teams as well as partner relationships
  • First class written and verbal communication, with outstanding interpersonal and networking skills
What we offer:
  • Enjoy flexibility with our hybrid setup: 3 days in office, 2 days remote
  • Kick off your weekends early with Summer Fridays
  • Unlock your potential with development opportunities, including mentorship programs and LinkedIn Learning
