Job Description:

We’re looking for two Visitor Management Officers to join our friendly and proactive team during the busy summer season. Based at Coniston Boating Centre, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Authority’s car parking operations, parking enforcement, public facilities and wider visitor management activities across the National Park. You’ll work closely with a range of internal and external partners to deliver initiatives that support high visitor pressure locations, contributing to the work of the Cumbria Strategic Visitor Management Group (SVMG).

Job Responsibility:

  • Engagement with visitors across the whole of the National Park, providing education and encouragement to prevent or reduce visitors’ adverse behaviours and impacts
  • To respond to visitors’ damage to the landscape, by taking practical steps to mitigate those harms
  • Supporting the delivery of Area Action Visitor Management Plans and the requests of the Strategic Visitor Management Group
  • On site management of the LDNPA’s car parks owned, managed, and leased for the purpose of maximising The Authority’s car parking income contribution, and facilitating a positive visitor parking experience
