Job Description:

Shift Lead for the Village Angels Team, responsible for leading the established team in Manchester and supporting a pilot in the Liverpool area. The service is a community safety initiative aimed at supporting people to get home safely on Friday and Saturday nights.

Job Responsibility:

  • Facilitating delivery of shifts
  • Running each Village Angels shift
  • Ensuring team is briefed and equipment is in order
  • Attending police briefings and passing on relevant information
  • Managing support of service users
  • Guiding and empowering volunteers
  • Providing supervision to volunteers
  • Facilitating debriefs after incidents
  • Feeding back concerns to Community Safety Team
  • Opening and locking up the Haven and LGBT Foundation building
  • Completion of documentation relating to safeguarding
  • Supporting wider programme delivery
  • Completion of shift supervision tasks
  • Attending quarterly team meetings
  • Attending relevant training
  • Management of diary to cover shifts
  • Being flexible to additional demands of the programme
  • Complying with LGBT Foundation’s policies

Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Leadership skills
  • Ability to manage difficult or challenging situations
  • Understanding of key issues experienced by the LGBTQ+ community
  • Experience within health care is desirable but not essential
