The CRIU Lead Analyst is a senior professional responsible for performing risk and compliance reviews in coordination with the broader Anti-Money Laundering (AML) team. This role involves conducting investigations, analyzing risks, ensuring compliance with policies, mentoring team members, and assisting management with audits and regulatory exams. Key duties include overseeing productivity metrics, preparing reports, reviewing cases, advising senior management, serving as a point of contact during audits, recommending process improvements, and developing training programs.
Job Responsibility:
Conduct investigations and research on potentially suspicious clients using various internal and external systems and databases
Document and report the review/investigation findings and prepare case files with the required supporting documentation
Summarize, in writing, clear and concise findings of the investigations
Advise senior management on next steps and provide recommendations on the next course of action
Manage risks by analyzing the root cause of issues and impacts to business
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets
Oversee all statistical data/metric relating to team performance, productivity and quality
Prepare, review, monitor and report to CRIU L2 managers on weekly productivity metrics
Prepare and produce daily reports on team performance
Participate in meetings with audits, responding to queries
Maintain oversight over the operational and technological issues facing the CRIU L2 team
Review AML cases completed by Analysts to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
Carry out SAR Reporting Officer responsibilities
Ensure SAR related regulatory timelines and requirements are followed by the team
Review/Approve post-investigative actions recommended by Analysts
Conduct personalized one-on-one or group mentoring sessions
Assist management with regulatory exams and other third-party reviews.
Requirements:
ACAMS certified
6-10 years of experience
4+ years of experience in drafting and/or approving Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements
Understanding of advanced money laundering typologies and techniques, and investigative practices for detecting such activity
Ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision
Ability to exercise independent judgement and autonomy
Proficient in MS Office
Proven analytical skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Comprehensive knowledge of CBUAE AML regulations preferred
Responsible for volume, quality and timeliness of work product
Follows procedures and identifies opportunities to strengthen controls
Learns from experiences, adapts and improves, and welcomes challenge from others on processes and decisions
Takes ownership and accountability for delivering outcomes, takes responsibility for own work
