Take your nursing skills to the next level in a fast-paced Emergency & Critical Care environment. Bay After Hours Veterinary Hospital provides essential emergency and critical care services to Tauranga and surrounding areas. We operate nights, weekends, and public holidays, delivering high-quality care when pets need it most. Our hospital is well-equipped and highly organised, allowing our nurses to work confidently and efficiently in a collaborative environment.

Job Responsibility:

Client communication and support
Patient triage and emergency nursing care
Monitoring and care of hospitalised and critical patients
IV catheter placement and blood sampling
Anaesthetic monitoring, including high-risk cases
Digital radiography and in-house laboratory testing
Fluid therapy and blood transfusion monitoring

Requirements:

At least 2 years’ experience as a Veterinary Nurse
Confidence in emergency patient care and anaesthetic monitoring
Clear and professional communication skills
Compassion, adaptability, and strong teamwork skills
Computer confidence (Vetlink experience advantageous)
NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa

Nice to have:

Emergency or referral nursing experience
Vetlink experience
