The Veterinary Health Center (VHC) within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our dedicated team to help facilitate exemplary patient care and quality customer service. This position is responsible for providing technical assistance services to the KSU-VHC in equine, livestock and equine field service. They will coordinate technical services for veterinary care to client, teaching and research patients presented to the equine, livestock services and field service department(s). This position is also responsible for monitoring 4th year veterinary students and entering information into the electronic medical records system. Stocking and cleanliness of the large animal barn as deemed necessary. Lastly, this position is responsible for coordination of animal treatments and diagnostics along with the supervising DVM on the case. Working hours for this position will be Thursday-Saturday, 8am-8pm
Job Responsibility:
Providing technical assistance services to the KSU-VHC in equine, livestock and equine field service

Requirements:
Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent)
One year of relevant experience. (Requirements may be met through a combination of education and experience.)
1 year of relevant large animal handling and hospital setting experience.
Ability to work with and provide preventative maintenance for ordinary medical equipment.
Ability to handle, restrain, and provide medical treatments to domestic animals.
Willingness to master new techniques.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
