Job Description:

Monetization is looking for a Research Manager with skills in user experience research, leadership, and collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders. This role requires a broad range of skills and expertise that strikes a balance between speed and rigor in their work, with a proven ability to transform research insights into design and product recommendations that drive decisions. It's not enough to answer interesting questions about user behavior; our team focuses on impact. You will lead a team of high quality researchers across a key product vertical, and across multiple research disciplines. We are looking for an experienced leader with a proven track record of building and managing teams. You must become a trusted, strategic partner to product stakeholders by communicating and demonstrating the value of user research, and by delivering insights that lead to measurable business value.

Job Responsibility:

  • Identify and prioritize short-term and long-term research that delivers the highest impact
  • Allocate resources and talent to ensure we are always focusing on the highest priorities and influencing critical product decisions
  • Deliver actionable and relevant insights aligned to both strategic and tactical product and designs decisions
  • Hire, develop, and retain talent across different skillsets (qual and quant)
  • Guide research throughout the product life-cycle from early stage generative research, through iterative concept or prototype testing, and post-launch measurement
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management, Design, Engineering and other cross-functional partners to ensure research is integrated into the product development process

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology, or related field or significant experience conducting User Experience research with meaningful business impact
  • 18+ years of experience conducting and/or studying research post-Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of experience directly managing, coaching and developing full-time researchers
  • Experience directly managing across different research methodologies
  • Experience directly conducting primary research (either qualitative or quantitative) end-to-end (e.g. designing, fielding, analyzing and reporting out data)
  • Experience building teams over time through hiring, growing, and retaining researchers
  • Experience building and setting research strategy that connects with business strategy
  • Track record of translating research into business impact and communicating research findings to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience working with a variety of cross functional peers and stakeholders to achieve shared goals (For example, product managers, data scientists, designers, engineers, policy, communications, marketing)

Nice to have:

  • Master's or PhD degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology, or related field
  • Experience working in advertising, monetization, or commerce topics
  • Experience leading teams across timezones
What we offer:
  • bonus
