Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Underground Mine Supervisor to lead and manage underground crews in a safe, productive, and efficient manner. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising UG crews, coordinating daily work activities, and ensuring compliance with all safety, operational, and regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supervise and coordinate underground crews of approximately 6 personnel
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, direction, and mentoring to UG employees
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and safety inspections
  • Monitor productivity, work quality, and adherence to mine plans and schedules
  • Identify and address safety concerns, operational issues, and personnel matters
  • Complete required documentation, reports, and shift handovers
  • Work closely with mine management, maintenance, and technical teams to meet production targets

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of underground mining experience
  • 3–5 years of experience in a supervisory role in an underground mining environment
  • Ontario Underground Supervisor Common Core (mandatory)
  • WSCC Level 2 certification preferred
  • Strong knowledge of underground mining practices, safety systems, and regulations
  • Proven leadership, communication, and team management skills
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a dynamic environment
