Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Transportation Engineer in our Chicago O'Hare office. This position offers the opportunity to work on the design of a variety of transportation and site engineering projects. Enjoy rewarding project challenges and an opportunity to become an important part of a well-established technical group.

Job Responsibility:

  • Hands-on involvement in the design process and project advancement including setting priorities and developing objectives
  • Serve as a technical resource for a multi-disciplined team
  • Design opportunities will generally include: Highway and Roadway Plans, Specifications and Estimates
  • Sewer Plans, Specifications and Estimates
  • Project Permitting
  • Project Reports
  • Mentor Junior Engineers
  • Professional society involvement

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of practical design experience in transportation engineering, highway design, and local street design
  • Knowledge of IDOT, CDOT, municipal and IL Tollway design and standards
  • PE license in IL
  • Good communication skills and interaction with clients and internal team members is necessary
  • Proficiency with MicroStation/OpenRoads required

Nice to have:

  • Modeling with OpenRoads is desired
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil3D software is a plus
