As a Transport Returns Operative, you'll play a vital role in maintaining vehicle compliance, supporting warehouse operations, and ensuring a smooth end-of-day process for our drivers.

Job Responsibility:

  • Debrief drivers and inspect returning vehicles for compliance and safety
  • Report defects, damages, or safety concerns promptly
  • Communicate effectively with drivers regarding daily routes and operational issues
  • Assist with loading and unloading vehicles as needed
  • Manage returns documentation and perform related administrative tasks
  • Update depot performance statistics and contribute to daily reporting

Requirements:

  • An understanding of transport legislation and logistics operations is desirable
  • Ability to respond quickly and effectively to operational challenges
  • Strong communication skills (Verbal and Written)
  • Competent use of Microsoft, particularly Excel
  • Confident in addressing vehicle-related concerns with drivers in a constructive manner

  • Coordinate with Engineering and Start-Up teams on SAT (Site Acceptance Testing) for dock equipment, yard systems, yard tractors, sensors, and automation supporting dock-level operations
  • Ensure all dock-related 5S work, signage, safety barriers, trailer restraints, and traffic plans are completed before go-live
  • Onboard and validate all transportation and dock vendors, including carriers, yard management services, and MHE providers
  • Serve as the on-site leader for dock, yard, and transportation execution, directing daily operations during ramp-up
  • Manage and deploy ~100 hourly associates (dock workers, yard spotters, clerks, and transportation support roles)
