In this Electrical Tradesperson position, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and repairing locomotives, rail cars, wagons, plant, and infrastructure to keep them safe, reliable, and ready for service. Your work will directly support the efficient operation of freight services.
Job Responsibility:
Performing routine and corrective maintenance and fault repairs using best practices
Adhering to Workplace Health and Safety (WH&S) regulations and technical specifications
Keeping accurate records and documentation of asset conditions, maintenance activities, and costs
Reporting completed work against the scheduled program
Contributing to the development and enhancement of work procedures for continuous quality improvement
Requirements:
Holds a mandatory Electrical Trade qualification or equivalent
Proficient in computer use
Strong commitment to safe working practices
Possesses strong interpersonal communication skills
Experience in repairing and maintaining locomotives and rolling stock is highly valued
Demonstrates robust fault-finding and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings
Knowledgeable in relevant legislation, including the Workplace Health and Safety Act
Nice to have:
Experience with locomotives and wagons is a plus, but training will be provided
