Job Responsibility

Sets-up and operates a full range of both manual and CNC machine tools
works from blueprints, sketches, models and verbal description to build, rebuild, modify, and repair tools, dies, gages and necessary equipment
reviews and verifies prints and drawings, determines availability of materials and equipment and priorities and schedules work flow
computes dimensions and plan layout and assembly operation
measures, marks and scribes metal stock for machining
plumbs pneumatic components for fixturing
fabricates, maintains, modifies and repairs metalworking dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures and gages
builds, tests, calibrates, adjusts and maintains production gauging
schedules outside vendor calibrations, creates or updates calibration procedures, orders new gauging
maintains gauging database and prepares instruments prior to issue
