Job Description:

We are seeking a thorough and well organised Administrator to join a friendly and welcoming team, who are very passionate about providing the best support to their students. As a SEN Administrator you will play a key role in ensuring an efficient, organised and welcoming environment that supports the learning, social and emotional development of students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This is initially a temporary role with the view to become permanent for the right candidate.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to the SENCO and SEND team
  • Prepare, produce and distribute SEN documentation (IEPs, Annual Reviews, PSPs, reports, letters, meeting minutes)
  • Arrange, organise and minute meetings with parents, students and external professionals
  • Oversee practical tasks such as ordering resources, maintaining supplies and ensuring department calendars, deadlines and events are accurately recorded
  • Manage communication tasks, including phone calls, correspondence and welcoming visitors
  • Support induction, deployment and administrative processes relating to Learning Support Assistants
  • Assist the SENCO, SEN Facilitator and Exams Officer with administration of exam and Access Arrangements
  • Collate and prepare information for Annual Reviews and statutory SEN processes
  • Carry out additional reasonable duties as required to support the effective running of the SEND department

Requirements:

  • Prior administration skills
  • Ideally within an educational setting
  • Understanding of the importance of safeguarding
  • Computer literate
  • Confident and polite telephone manner
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills
  • An enhanced DBS will be required prior to commencing employment
