Job Description:

Senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs. The overall objective is to drive applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Job Responsibility:

Manage one or more Applications Development teams
Conduct personnel duties for team (performance evaluations, hiring and disciplinary actions)
Utilize in-depth knowledge across multiple Applications Development areas to provide technical oversight
Review and analyze proposed technical solutions for projects
Contribute to formulation of strategies for applications development
Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business integrate to accomplish business goals
Provide evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual data
Monitor delivery of end results
Participate in budget management
Handle day-to-day staff management issues including resource management
Ensure essential procedures are followed
Contribute to defining standards
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made
Drive compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations

Requirements:

6-10 years of relevant experience in the Financial Service industry
Experience as Applications Development Manager
Experience as senior level in an Applications Development role
Stakeholder and people management experience
Demonstrated leadership skills
Proven project management skills
Basic knowledge of industry practices and standards
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
Proficient in industry standard best practices such as Design Patterns, Coding Standards, Coding modularity, Prototypes, Object oriented programming etc.
Thorough in-depth understanding of usage of the fundamental concepts of Java and J2EE
Knowledge and application of Java, J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, HTML/CSS, Angular, Microservice framework
Experience with Single page application development like Angular
Experience with any SQL/No SQL databases (Oracle, Sybase, Mongo etc.)
Strong knowledge of unit testing frameworks like JUnit, Mockito
Experience in debugging, tuning and optimizing Java micro service components
Experience working in a Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery environment and familiar with Teamcity, Jenkins, Code Quality/Style Tools -SonarLint, Blackduck etc.
Knowledge of application servers / webservers (WebLogic, Tomcat)
Proficiency with Git for managing code versions and collaborating with other developers
Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience

Nice to have:

Expertise in technologies like Kafka, JMS, Solace
Work experience on the transactional applications for low latency, high availability uses
Master's degree
