Job Description:

The Technician role involves addressing guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting and repairing various equipment. The position requires physical ability to move and handle objects, maintain tools and inventory, and communicate effectively with guests and other team members. The role supports Marriott’s commitment to an inclusive and professional environment.

Job Responsibility:

Respond and attend to guest repair requests
communicate with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues
perform preventive maintenance on tools and kitchen and mechanical room equipment
visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines
carry equipment such as tools and radio
identify, locate, and operate shut-off valves for equipment and utility shut-offs for buildings
maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed
communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts using approved programs and standards
perform repairs such as surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb and A/C filter replacement
clean painting or repair area
test, troubleshoot and repair various equipment, plumbing, and electrical components
program TVs and perform engineering-related inventory duties
perform repairs on landscaping and sprinkler systems
comply with safety policies and procedures
maintain uniform and personal appearance
anticipate and address guest needs
use clear and professional language
enter and locate work-related information using computers
perform other reasonable job duties

Requirements:

Driver’s License
basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and/or general building
ability to perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb replacement, and A/C filter replacement
basic computer skills including inputting air handler schedules and making temperature changes
physical ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull objects less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance and heavier tasks with assistance
physical ability to move up and down stairs, service ramps, ladders, reach overhead and below the knees, and perform bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping

Nice to have:

High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent
some experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation and painting
experience in hotel engineering or maintenance
