This role involves creating, developing, writing, and editing operational and instructional documents to support the end-users of company products. The position includes responsibilities such as collaborating across different teams, managing multiple projects, and ensuring documents meet regulatory standards.
Job Responsibility:
Creating and developing operational and instructional documents to support end-users of company products
Ensuring that all documents conform to existing department style guidelines, quality assurance, and regulatory standards
Collaborating cross-functionally to plan, research, develop, and prepare publication plans for each assigned project
Managing the development and production of documents within budget and schedule
Conducting interviews with technical staff and other functional groups to gather information for projects
Providing rough drafts, sketches, and other appropriate inputs required for illustrators to create illustrations and artwork for final documents
Revising existing documents to support product changes
Learning unfamiliar technical communication tools quickly and documenting complex technologies
Working with the Tech Comm team to obtain translation and delivery schedule estimates and sharing them with project teams
Prioritizing work appropriately to satisfy multiple project teams and seeking assistance from colleagues to resolve conflicting project demands.
Requirements:
Associate degree in Technical Communication/Professional Writing or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience in technical writing
2+ years of experience as an effective technical writer
Proven writing and editing skills with excellent attention to detail
Strong mechanical aptitude
Ability to refine written content to be clear, concise, and user-friendly
Proven ability to work under deadlines while effectively managing time on multiple projects
Familiarity with common desktop publishing tools such as Adobe FrameMaker, InDesign, and Oxygen XML
Basic understanding of technical documentation practices, techniques, and standards
Some experience with interpreting engineering drawings and communicating visually
Capable of learning and operating within FDA and other regulatory requirements
Effective verbal and written communication skills to collaborate across teams.
