Job Description:

Our client, a leading provider of industrial sensors and associated equipment, is seeking a proactive and driven Technical Sales Engineer to join their team. This role offers the chance to work closely with the Managing Director, Sales Coordinator, and Marketing team to drive sales growth, build strong client relationships, and expand market presence. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in identifying customer needs, delivering tailored solutions, and contributing to the company’s revenue growth.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead Generation: Collaborating with the Managing Director and marketing team to identify target markets and high-quality potential clients through research, networking, and industry contacts
  • Sales Planning: Developing activity plans to achieve sales strategy goals and targets
  • Relationship Building: Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing clients, ensuring satisfaction and fostering long-term partnerships
  • Client Meetings: Conducting telephone, online, and face-to-face meetings to understand client needs, present products, and offer customized solutions
  • Marketing Collaboration: Working with the marketing team to create collateral, provide feedback, and support lead generation activities
  • Sales Tracking and Reporting: Maintaining an up-to-date sales pipeline, tracking activities, and analysing data to refine strategies using CRM software
  • Product Knowledge: Gaining a deep understanding of the company’s industrial sensor product range to match customer needs with appropriate solutions
  • Industry Knowledge: Staying informed about market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to maintain a competitive edge
  • Representation: Representing the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote products and services

Requirements:

  • A minimum of three A Levels or equivalent in science-based subjects (a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred)
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or a related role
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of industrial sensors and associated equipment (training will be provided if necessary)
  • You MUST have a valid UK drivers’ licence to apply for this position, to qualify for Business Car Insurance
