Job Description:

You will be an integral part of the Avionics, Guidance, Navigation & Control (AGNC) department, specifically the Avionics Hardware team, responsible for the Hardware Design of the Avionics at Isar Aerospace. You will lead the team that designs, tests and integrates the Control Units across the vehicle.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage the Control Units Team programmatically and disciplinary, mentor and develop your team of electrical engineers
  • Manage related tasks and projects, monitor progress, and ensure completion within defined timelines
  • Ensure engineering excellence for avionic units through requirements, reviews and continuous improvement
  • Plan and carry out automated unit qualification and acceptance tests
  • Plan and conduct vehicle integration and testing for your products, both in Germany and on the launch pad
  • Own and improve the manufacturing, assembly and coating process of printed circuit boards with both internal and external partners
  • Manage the ECAD environment of Isar Aerospace, own and improve design rules and guidelines
  • Lead failure analysis of electrical units & systems

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in the fields of Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Power Electronics or similar
  • Leadership experience of 4+ years, ideally in a start-up environment
  • Extensive experience in electrical circuit and board design
  • Excellent knowledge in ECAD tools, preferably in Altium Designer
  • Extensive hands-on experience in electrical unit design and test
  • Extensive hands-on experience in hardware design of embedded systems
  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes for printed circuit board assemblies
  • Experience in environmental testing of electrical units
  • Fluent in English

Nice to have:

  • Experience in Power Electronics and Li-Ion batteries
  • Experience in unit design, assembly, test and integration within the field of aerospace
