The role involves supporting two pre-verbal pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) in a Reception (Early Years Foundation Stage) setting. Responsibilities include creating bespoke timetables, assisting with personal care, and working collaboratively with SENCO to deliver tailored support in a child-centered primary school with strong SEN policies.
Job Responsibility:
Supporting two pre-verbal pupils with ASC on a 1:2 basis
working closely with the SENCO and class teacher
delivering learning via bespoke timetables and sensory activities
supporting with personal care routines as needed
Requirements:
Degree in Psychology, Child Development or a related field
a genuine passion for working with children with Autism and complex needs
previous experience with SEN is desirable – professional or personal
comfortable supporting with personal care
strong communication skills and a compassionate, calm approach
confident working collaboratively with teaching and support staff
