Job Description:

We are seeking adaptable and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join the support teams at our partner secondary schools in Southport. Job Responsibility:

  • Deliver 1:1 or small group support to help students master difficult subjects
  • Assist the class teacher in managing classroom behaviour and keeping students on task
  • Adapt learning materials to meet the needs of students
  • Supervise students during practical lessons and experiments to ensure safety
  • Keep a close eye on student progress and provide simple, encouraging feedback
  • Prepare the classroom environment and resources before each lesson begins
  • Act as a reliable mentor and positive role model for teenagers
  • Support the school's pastoral team in ensuring student well being and safety

Requirements:

  • A resilient personality and the ability to build quick rapport with local teenagers
  • Previous experience in a school, youth club, or community setting is a big plus
  • A professional approach and the ability to follow school policies and procedures
  • A valid Enhanced DBS check (or the willingness to apply for one)
