Job Responsibility:

  • Helping students understand difficult topics in small groups
  • Providing one-on-one support for students with specific learning needs
  • Keeping students focused and motivated during their lessons
  • Supporting students who have English as an additional language (EAL)
  • Helping the teacher manage classroom behavior in a calm way
  • Making sure all students feel safe and supported in school
  • Assisting with the preparation of learning resources and materials

Requirements:

  • Communication: Being able to talk to teenagers in a way they understand
  • Patience: Staying calm when helping students who find work challenging
  • Flexibility: Being happy to help in different subjects like Maths, English, or PE
  • Reliability: Being a consistent and trusted face for the students
  • Experience: Experience with young people (coaching, youth work, or tutoring) is a plus
