This is an excellent opportunity for a Tax Manager specialising in Insolvency to join a well-established accountancy and advisory practice in Exeter. You’ll play a key role supporting insolvency, restructuring and recovery assignments, providing specialist tax insight and working collaboratively with senior stakeholders.
Job Responsibility:
Advising on tax matters arising from insolvency and restructuring cases
Supporting administrators, liquidators and restructuring advisers on tax compliance and advisory issues
Managing corporation tax, VAT and PAYE matters for insolvent entities
Advising on loss relief, group relief, terminal loss claims and cessation issues
Handling HMRC correspondence, negotiations and clearances
Reviewing and overseeing tax filings linked to insolvency cases
Providing technical input on pre-pack sales, business disposals and reorganisations
Working closely with insolvency practitioners, partners and external advisers
Supporting junior team members with technical guidance and mentoring
Keeping up to date with changes in insolvency and tax legislation
Requirements:
CTA, ACA or ACCA qualified (or qualified by experience)
Experience in insolvency-related tax work within practice or advisory environments
Strong understanding of corporation tax, VAT and insolvency tax principles
Confident liaising with HMRC and external stakeholders
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Commercially aware and comfortable working on complex cases
Enjoy working collaboratively across tax and advisory teams
Demonstrate ambition to progress within a specialist tax role
