Job Description:

Lead the tax strategy for a global mobility technology leader in Tokyo – Hybrid role. Our client is a cutting-edge mobility technology subsidiary of a major global automotive corporation. They are committed to delivering safe, intelligent, and human-centered mobility solutions through innovative software platforms and advanced driving technologies. They foster a collaborative and dynamic work environment, blending Silicon Valley innovation with Japanese quality craftsmanship.

Job Responsibility:

Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive tax strategies
Manage and oversee the timely and accurate filing of all tax returns
Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate tax policy implementation
Identify and mitigate potential financial risks and compliance issues
Provide expert tax advice and guidance to internal stakeholders
Stay current on evolving tax laws and regulations in relevant jurisdictions
Foster a strong culture of tax compliance within the organization

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, taxation, or a related field
Minimum of 7 years of experience in tax management, preferably in a corporate or public accounting setting
Experience with tax planning, compliance, and indirect taxation
Excellent communication skills in both Japanese and English
Strong understanding of Japanese tax laws and regulations
While professional qualifications such as Japan Tax Accountant or US CPA are highly valued, they are not mandatory for consideration
Experience with people management is a plus
