Job Description:

The Tax Analyst 1 is a trainee professional role requiring good knowledge of processes, procedures, and systems, with direct impact limited to own tasks. Responsibilities involve managing tax liabilities, compliance, reporting, and planning within Citi’s Tax Information Reporting function. The position includes audits, process redesign, and adherence to regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibility:

Responsible for the overall management of the tax liabilities of Citi
Contributes to the planning, accounting, filing and reporting of tax liability of the company
Assists in determining and compiling information required to satisfy income tax filing and related requirements
May participate in managing payments to tax authorities
Advises on procedures and concepts in technical/subject area
Improves process efficiencies
Executes tax information reporting processes
Migration of work into centralized hub
Develop 'Go To' processes and implement appropriate procedures/controls
Support audits with IRS and Internal Audit
Perform reviews of written tax policy and procedures
Handle Tax reporting for US and Non US legislations.

Requirements:

Bachelors degree
2+ years of experience
Basic understanding and working knowledge of IRS Forms W-9 and W-8 and information reporting rules, FATCA and CRS
Strong MS Office skills particularly Excel
Quick learner with excellent communication skills
Team orientation
Ability to work with counterparts in different areas of organization
Ability to act as a change agent for organization.

Nice to have:

Project Management experience preferred
VBA, knowledge of Macros read and write
CA, CPA or an equivalent Tax qualification preferred.
