As a Talent Development Specialist, you'll empower young adults to overcome barriers, develop new skills, and connect with meaningful career and education opportunities through the WIOA Youth program. You'll build relationships, guide participants toward self-sufficiency, and make a direct impact in your community-all while working near the beautiful Seaside coast.
Job Responsibility:
Assess participant eligibility and determine program fit for WIOA Youth services
Evaluate work history, education, and skills to create individualized career and education plans
Conduct regular one-on-one meetings to support job readiness, training, and employment success
Maintain accurate participant documentation in CalJOBS and internal systems
Connect participants with training, education, and employment resources that match their goals
Partner with local employers and community organizations to create pathways to employment
Facilitate workshops, employer presentations, and job readiness sessions
Track outcomes and ensure program performance goals are met or exceeded
Collaborate with a supportive team
Requirements:
Associate degree (or equivalent work experience) in workforce development, education, social services, or a related field
1-3 years of experience in workforce development or similar programs preferred
Strong communication and presentation skills
Excellent customer service and organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to work well in a team and build rapport with diverse individuals and employers
Familiarity with the local community and its employment resources
Valid driver's license and proof of current auto insurance
Nice to have:
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
