Job Responsibility:
Supporting the GMD Engineering Development and Early Integration Labs for the Missile Defense Agency
Be a Systems Engineer responsible for lab integration representing GMD products
Assist in lab build-up and execution of GMD Lab integration for the upgrades, both hardware and software, of all GMD elements
Support lab integration team flow down requirements, critical testing, and development in different lab environments
Experience collaborating with teams of engineers, system administrators, network engineers, product subject matter experts, and subcontractors to coordinate all phases of development and integration
Best practices for engineering development and configuration management
Provide comprehensive end-to-end computing support in closed environments, from desktops to servers
Upgrading, installing, and configuring application software and computer hardware
Creating and managing system permissions and user accounts
Performing regular security tests and security monitoring
Maintaining networks and network file systems
Coordinating security relevant changes of both hardware and software components, and network with the ISSO for compliance
Working effectively, and semi-autonomously, in a rapid pace team environment
Installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and administering support for Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) servers/workstations
Managing local servers and virtual machines (Azure, VMWare)
Ability to obtain United States Security Clearance (An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance pre-start is required)
US Citizenship as a condition of employment
CompTIA Security+ (or higher-level certification to meet DoD 8570 requirements)
Strong problem-solving skills
Experienced career computing knowledge level of the following: Networking (Cisco), Linux, Windows
Good verbal and written communication skills, must be able to work independently and will possess the poise and flexibility required to work in a highly dynamic environment
Level 3: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience)
Level 4: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications
Nice to have:
Government contracts and/or sub-contracts experience
Experience in GMD program
Experience and understanding of Cyber Security Requirements
