The Sustainability Engagement Intern is responsible for assisting the Sustainability and Marketing Managers ensure Aramark/Clemson Dining’s Sustainability needs are met. The Sustainability Intern will primarily assist with all current and future dining strategy implementation as it relates to Sustainability and Marketing within Dining Services. The Sustainability Intern must be a student at Clemson University and possess excellent customer service and verbal communication skills. Essential functions and responsibilities of the position may vary by Aramark location based on client requirements and business needs.
Job Responsibility:
Assist Sustainability Manager with coordinating and executing marketing campaigns on campus
Help plan and execute events, including educational tables, farmer’s markets, residential theme events, etc.
Collaborate with graphic designer to develop and distribute signage on campus
Act as a liaison between Clemson University and campus partners, students, and community members
Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including proper food safety and sanitation
Ensures security of company assets
Communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff, and community members
Find opportunities to collaborate with community and campus partners
Attend weekly staff meetings and regular weekly project team meetings
Develop a basic knowledge of sustainability and environmental principles (no prior sustainability knowledge is necessary for this assistantship)
Other duties and tasks as assigned by manager
Requirements:
Must be a current Clemson University Student
Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of up to 25 lbs.
Candidate must demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills
