Alleima invites students to apply for assignments as a Summer Technologist. The task is to carry out advanced material investigations and data analyses. The assignment is to carry out microstructure analysis, which means hands on experience operating a SEM, alongside various image analysis techniques, and verifying findings against thermodynamic modelling. The summer technology period covers 8 weeks and can begin as soon as studies are finished for the summer.
Job Responsibility:
Carry out advanced material investigations and data analyses
Be responsible for a part of a research project aimed at optimizing alloy design and production route
Carry out microstructure analysis
Operate a SEM
Use various image analysis techniques
Verify findings against thermodynamic modelling
Perform thermodynamic modelling
Take part in lectures and study visits
Requirements:
Studying for a bachelor's or master's degree
Interest in technology and people
Curious, detail-oriented, and self-sufficient personality
Ability to work in a group and ask for help
Good oral and written skills in Swedish and English
Studying metallurgy, materials technology, mechanical engineering, technical physics, or similar
Progressed 3-4 years in education or started master's degree
Taken courses in materials design
Knowledge about Matlab and Thermo-Calc is an advantage
