Job Description:

The mission of this role is to ensure every mechanical subsystem delivered for satellite integration works exactly as intended by inspecting, assembling and validating it with clear, reliable evidence. It also exists to catch issues early, fix them at the source and keep the entire build process traceable and unblocked so spacecraft can be assembled and launched with confidence.

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform inspection, assembly and verification of satellite subsystems
  • Ensure readiness and functionality of assigned subsystems (e.g., antennas, solar panels) through testing and validation procedures
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, AIT, and Quality teams to resolve integration challenges and drive design-for-manufacturing improvements
  • Monitor subassembly production and escalate blockers early, ensuring smooth coordination with AIT and supply chain teams
  • Support root cause analysis and non-conformance resolution for mechanical-related issues during integration and testing
  • Ensure proper documentation and traceability for all mechanical activities in accordance with aerospace production standards

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience in aerospace or high-reliability mechanical assembly environments
  • Proven experience assembling/inspecting/verifying electronic components
  • Familiarity with quality standards
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, scaling production environment with tight deadlines
  • Hands-on mindset — must be willing to go on the floor, solve problems, and support other technicians directly
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate across functions (Production, Engineering, QA, Planning)
  • Strong process ownership and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Experience with root cause analysis and non-conformance handling

Nice to have:

  • Strong understanding of satellite mechanical subsystems, including deployables, structures, and environmental testing (vibration, shock, thermal vacuum)
  • Thorough understanding of thermal behavior and thermal interfaces, including thermal pads, thermal pastes, and other thermal dissipation hardware, is essential
  • Familiarity with IPC, ECSS, or similar aerospace manufacturing and quality standards
  • Experience in NewSpace or small satellite production
  • Knowledge of mechanical testing standards and processes in the space industry
  • Experience working with cleanroom procedures and satellite integration flows
  • Familiarity with ERP or MES systems used in production environments
What we offer:
  • A job that matters in a dynamic Earth Observation environment with a scale-up approach
  • An independent role with a supportive and diverse work environment
  • Phone subscription with iPhone of choice
  • Relocation support (i.e. flight tickets, accommodation, relocation agency support)
  • Time for self-development, research, training, conferences, or certification schemes
  • Inspiring and collaborating offices and silent workspaces enable you to focus
  • A wide variety of the best coffee, tea, snacks, and sweets to accompany your daily space mission
  • Competitive salary contingent on your experience level, and will be negotiated individually
