The primary purpose of this position is to provide personal counseling services, including crisis counseling, primarily to Aims students on the Greeley campus, with an expectation of providing support to students on other campuses in-person and virtually as needed. The position also develops prevention/wellness programming and psycho-educational support groups for students, and training/workshops for staff and faculty. This position is required to develop community connections and partnerships with non-profit agencies to maximize external referrals in Northern Colorado. In addition, the position supervises counseling interns who provide personal counseling services to students on campus; oversees crisis response services for Aims students by developing departmental protocols and serving as the lead crisis response person, per institutional policy. This position requires occasional travel.
Job Responsibility:
Provide personal counseling services, including crisis counseling, primarily to Aims students on the Greeley campus, with support to students on other campuses in-person and virtually as needed
Develop prevention/wellness programming and psycho-educational support groups for students, and training/workshops for staff and faculty
Develop community connections and partnerships with non-profit agencies to maximize external referrals in Northern Colorado
Supervise counseling interns
Oversee crisis response services for Aims students by developing departmental protocols and serving as the lead crisis response person
Assist the Executive Director with the administration of student services functions on the Greeley Campus
Attend campus-based staff meetings and relevant training
Serve as Counseling Team liaison to Greeley based faculty
Develop partnerships with academic/career programs
Implement comprehensive strategies and outreach programs at Greeley campus to promote mental health awareness
Plan and implement a preventative and educational curriculum for programs and workshops related to mental health and working with students in distress/crisis
Coordinate and develop curriculum for workshops for students on mental health topics
Be involved with educational efforts on a variety of need-based topics
Execute wellness tactics on the college's strategic plan
Conduct individual counseling sessions
Establish support groups on campus
Support the development of departmental procedures for the crisis response manual
Serves as the lead crisis response point person for Counseling Services at Greeley Campus
Meet with referred students and help them to gain emotional stability
Lead psycho-educational support groups
Coordinate relevant training on crisis response for staff
Support the Dean of Students and Behavioral Intervention Team with management of CARE cases
Provide outside referral resources when needed
Maintain currency in best practices and emerging theories in the field
Maintain annual professional development and continuing education credits for licensure
Maintain student records in an electronic health record system
Requirements:
Master's degree in clinical counseling, social work, or a closely related degree
one (1) year in counseling
Mental health professional licensure (e.g., Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW))
Maintenance of the required number of Continuing Education Credits annually
Travel required (Personal Vehicle)
