Job Description:

The Underwriter is a strategic professional with excellent communication skills required to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business. This 1st Line role is suited to someone working as a Risk Approver or Senior Analyst, Coverage Banker, Transactor or Product Specialist covering Structured Trade Products.

Job Responsibility:

Global coverage with Asia focus
Work with Bankers, Product Partners and Underwriters in underwriting requests for credit extensions
Credit structuring and legal documentation review
Build understanding of Citibank products and services
Perform industry, portfolio, geographical research and portfolio due diligence
Ensure compliance with credit policies and regulatory requirements
Coach and train less experienced underwriters
Recommend process changes for greater efficiency
Assess risk in business decisions
Drive compliance with laws, rules and regulations

Requirements:

10 years of relevant experience
Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting (preferred)
Previous experience working in a financial institution
Experience in loan officer or underwriting role
Credit training
Advanced analytical skills
Ability to read and assess company financial statements, cash flow, industry and competitive analysis
Knowledge of intermediate accounting theory
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Problem recognition and resolution skills
Ability to work autonomously and within a team
Proficient in Excel, Word, and Moody's financial analysis software
English fluency

Nice to have:

Master's degree preferred
Experience as Risk Approver or Senior Analyst
Coverage Banker experience
Transactor experience
Product Specialist experience covering Structured Trade Products
Familiarity with Structured Receivable transactions
