Minimum 5 years’ experience in structural steel
At least two years’ quality control and supervisory experience
NDE (non-destructive examinations) qualified is preferred
Certified Welding Inspector & UT LVL II is preferred
Must be able to lift in excess of 100 pounds on occasion
Must have ability to bend, stoop, and climb frequently
The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required
Requires some travel with over night stays

Job Responsibility

Directing activities of N.D.T. and Quality Control Inspectors
Performs constant surveillance of fabrication activities including fitting, welding, bolting, lay-down assembly, cleaning and painting
Maintains records of welder qualifications and checks records of inspections
Coordinates with shop supervision to assure timely performance of inspections
Works with maintenance department for calibrating welding machines
Calibrates tapes and paint gauges with inspectors and shop supervision
Prepares weld qualification tests and controls welding and testing thereof
Resolves in-process non-conformance corrections and obtains engineering approval for repairs
Notifies plant supervision and engineering of continuing or recurring problems
Responsible for adhering to all company safety and OSHA regulations
