Job Description:

As a Structural Engineering Intern on the Rail Bridge team, you will perform meaningful, hands-on, real-world work that will transform your classroom experience and help you envision your future career. You’ll be part of a team, working for our clients on projects involving railroad bridges and supporting structures, with our most experienced engineers.

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform meaningful, hands-on, real-world work
  • Be part of a team working on projects involving railroad bridges and supporting structures
  • Perform basic project design through CAD drafting
  • Perform research
  • Travel to job sites for observation as needed

Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to contribute and work well on a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Pursuing a degree in structural engineering or civil engineering
  • Ability to work 10 to 20 hours per week during the school year and 40 hours per week during the summer
