Job Description:

The Steward position at JW Marriott Hotel Mexico City Polanco involves operating and maintaining cleaning equipment, washing and sanitizing kitchen areas, ensuring hygiene standards, following safety procedures, and supporting team goals. Applicants will join a luxury hospitality brand dedicated to professional development and a supportive work environment.

Job Responsibility:

Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools including dish washing machine, hand wash stations, and trash compactor
wash and disinfect kitchen and storeroom areas, tables, and tools
ensure clean wares are stored in appropriate areas
rack and spray items with hot water
break down dirty bus tubs and dispose of trash
clean and mop areas in assigned departments
follow safety policies
report unsafe work conditions
support team to reach common goals.

Requirements:

Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools, including dish washing machine, hand wash stations, pot-scrubbing station, and trash compactor
wash and disinfect kitchen and storeroom areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment
receive deliveries, store perishables properly, and rotate stock
use detergent, rinsing, and sanitizing chemicals in the 3-compartment sink
inspect, pull, and stack cleaned items, send soiled items back for re-scrubbing
rack and spray all racked items with hot water to remove residue
sort, soak, and wash/re-wash silverware
empty and maintain trash cans and dumpster area
clean and mop all areas in assigned departments
dispose of glass in the proper containers
break down cardboard boxes and recycle
follow safety and security policies
report maintenance needs, accidents, and unsafe work conditions
speak with others using professional language
develop and maintain positive team relationships
move, lift, carry, push, pull objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds
stand, sit or walk for extended periods
reach overhead and below knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
