Sterile Processing Tech II

• Thoroughly clean, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, package, and sterilize medical devices according to established procedures and manufacturer's instructions
• Operate and maintain cleaning and sterilization equipment, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to safety protocols
• Perform biological testing, monitor autoclave performance, and identify instruments needing repair or sharpening
• Maintain supply levels, fill surgical case cart requisitions using our hospital computer system, and report any equipment malfunctions
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues, physicians, and supervisory staff
• Act as a preceptor and mentor to new team members, sharing your expertise and contributing to their development
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of sterilization principles, infection control practices, and universal safety precautions

• Minimum of two years experience with surgical instrumentation required
• Minimum two years prior sterile processing or surgical tech experience required
• Completion of a Sterile Processing Program or surgical tech program required
• High School Graduate or equivalent required
• Certified and Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Surgical Technologist Certification (CST), thru HSPA (formerly IAHCSMM) is required
• Current AHA BLS card required
• Fire Card (within 90 days of hire) required
• Knowledge of specialty instruments and thorough knowledge of disinfecting and sterilization procedures required

Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution preferred
