As a Stationary Engineer, you will be a central figure responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of our facility's critical mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring continuous functionality for all building occupants. You will play a vital role in maintaining a stable and comfortable environment while optimizing energy and system reliability.
Job Responsibility:
Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot complex HVAC, refrigeration, boiler, and power generation systems
Perform meticulous preventive maintenance and repairs
Maintain precise logs
Respond promptly to alarms and emergencies
Collaborate with other facilities personnel
Work with other trades assigned to perform work in the boiler room, mechanical rooms, and all other areas assigned
Work from written requisitions or verbal instructions
Perform pressure vessel firing operation and other incidental duties
Have constant surveillance of all pressure vessel operations, gauges, valves, and visible, audible controls
Regulate the size of flame and operate boiler controls, adjusting for various loads
Start and operate boilers
Requirements:
High School Graduate, General Studies required
Minimum 2 years boiler and plant operations experience, with 1 year in a healthcare setting
Minimum 2 years of generalized knowledge in hospital facility repair and maintenance operations, including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC controls
Fire Safety, within 90 Days of hire date required
City of Los Angeles Steam Engineer - Unlimited HP license
