Job Description:

We are looking for a technical leader to shape, scale, and continuously evolve our Marketing Technology capabilities across the Adobe Experience Cloud. As our first hire in this space, this role will be pivotal in building out a high‑performing in‑house capability. As our Staff Engineer for MarTech, you will define our technical direction for Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) covering Real Time CDP, Journey Optimizer (AJO), Customer Journey Analytics (CJA), Target, AEM Sites and Assets (DAM), and Workfront. You will ensure these platforms deliver measurable impact across customer engagement, personalisation, and marketing effectiveness. This role operates at the intersection of Technology, Marketing, and Data. You will act as the technical authority, working with architecture to turn marketing and commercial strategy into scalable and future‑proof platform capabilities. You will collaborate with Marketing leadership, support and guide engineering teams, and uphold standards around architecture, data quality, and platform excellence.

Job Responsibility:

  • Optimise our Real Time Customer Profile foundation so audience segmentation, enrichment, and activation become more relevant and effective
  • Implement and scale cross‑channel customer journeys using Adobe Journey Optimizer, improving time to launch and supporting stronger conversion, retention, and satisfaction
  • Advance Customer Journey Analytics to move away from fragmented reporting and towards unified, self‑serve insights that help Marketing and Digital teams make better decisions
  • Establish strong standards for experimentation and personalisation using Adobe Target, enabling more testing, safer execution, and higher return on investment
  • Enhance how digital content is produced, managed, and deployed. This includes improving campaign speed, reuse, compliance, and consistency across channels
  • Embed and optimise Workfront as the backbone of marketing workflow from brief to delivery, improving visibility, throughput, and alignment across teams
  • Own the MarTech technical roadmap across AEP, ensuring it aligns with business goals and marketing priorities. Define long‑term architectural direction, integrations, and investment choices across Adobe Experience Cloud. Partner with Marketing leadership to translate customer and commercial goals into use cases and platform capabilities
  • Architect and govern AEP implementations including XDM modelling, identity resolution, ingestion patterns, activation, destination architecture, and platform governance. Define standards for segment design, profile policies, real‑time data flows, and edge decisioning
  • Define triggers, schemas, guardrails, and operational patterns for orchestrating scalable cross‑channel journeys. Ensure journeys are testable, observable, and measurable
  • Design and maintain analytics connections, data views, and workspaces. Lead the transition from legacy reporting platforms to CJA with a focus on accuracy, stability, and adoption
  • Define experimentation frameworks, fallback behaviour, safety rules, and governance for Adobe Target. Partner with Marketing and Digital teams to support high‑velocity testing and personalisation
  • Define component libraries, fragment strategies, metadata structures, and asset governance for AEM Sites and DAM. Support omnichannel delivery and headless content where appropriate
  • Embed Workfront across end‑to‑end marketing workflow including templates, approvals, SLAs, intake criteria, and integrations across Adobe platforms
  • Promote DevSecOps best practice across engineering teams including secure development, TDD, CI/CD, observability, and operational readiness. Mentor engineers, drive chapter initiatives, support continuous improvement, and guide teams in resolving technical debt and strengthening resilience
  • Act as a trusted advisor to Marketing, Data and Analytics, and senior stakeholders. Represent engineering in governance, planning, and strategic decision making

Requirements:

  • Proven ability to lead through influence, shaping direction, coaching engineers, and strengthening capability across cross‑functional teams
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, confident operating with senior leaders in both technical and non‑technical areas
  • Ability to balance long‑term technical strategy with near‑term delivery needs
  • Passion for continuous improvement, experimentation, and innovation
  • Deep hands‑on knowledge of Adobe Experience Cloud, including: AEP Real Time CDP covering data modelling, identity, profile governance, sources and destinations, and segment design
  • Customer Journey Analytics covering workspace design, connections, and cross‑channel analytics
  • Adobe Target covering experimentation frameworks, personalisation strategies, guardrails, and performance optimisation
  • AEM Sites, EDS and Assets covering component architecture, CF and XF patterns, metadata, rights management, and asset workflow
  • Workfront covering marketing workflow design, templates, approvals, and capacity management
  • Broad grounding in engineering including full‑stack fundamentals, distributed systems, API design, cloud platforms (GCP), containers, Kubernetes, and CI/CD
  • Strong understanding of data governance, privacy and consent, DevSecOps, and secure engineering practices
  • Experience diagnosing and resolving complex production issues

Nice to have:

  • Adobe Tags or Launch, Edge Network, server‑side events, feature flagging
  • Experience with consent management platforms, data quality frameworks, and enterprise observability
What we offer:
  • Eligible for up to £3,600 of free shares each year after one year of service
