We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a team in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. Job Responsibility:
Prepare and record journal entries to ensure accurate financial transactions and compliance with company policies
Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations to maintain the integrity of the balance sheet
Analyze budget-to-actual variances and provide detailed explanations to management
Assist in preparing audit schedules and internal reports to support compliance and transparency
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper coding and documentation within the accounting system
Collaborate with various departments to address discrepancies and enhance accounting processes
Support month-end and year-end closing procedures, meeting tight deadlines
Utilize accounting software, such as Mass500, to streamline workflows and improve efficiency
Apply advanced Excel functions, including pivot tables and formulas, to create detailed financial reports and conduct data analysis
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
At least 2 years of accounting experience, preferably at the staff accountant level
Experience with Mass500 or similar accounting systems is preferred
Proficiency in advanced Excel functions, including pivot tables, formulas, and macros
Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
Excellent organizational and communication abilities to present financial insights clearly
Capability to manage multiple tasks and thrive in a fast-paced work environment
Knowledge of corporate tax returns, sales tax, and general ledger processes is a plus
