Job Description:

This role is integral in supporting day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with internal policies and external regulations. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in accounting principles and a strong desire to contribute to a mission-driven organization.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts regularly
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
Support preparation of audit schedules and respond to auditor inquiries
Help ensure compliance with internal controls and financial procedures
Prepare financial reports for internal stakeholders and external partners
Contribute to process improvements and efficiency initiatives within the accounting team

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit or financial services environment
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems)
Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting procedures
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism
Effective communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
Experience with fund accounting or grant reporting (for non-profit experience)
Familiarity with regulatory requirements in the banking/lending industry
CPA or progress toward certification is a plus
