Job Description:

Beacon Technologies is seeking a Sr. Project Manager/Scrum Master (Data Science) for our client partner. This position is located in Madison, Wisconsin, a hybrid schedule with at least 2-3 days/week onsite. Position will be contract-to-hire role.

Job Responsibility:

  • Serve as Scrum Master and/or Project Manager for the Data Science and Engineering projects (Experience with Customer Lifetime Value is a plus), facilitating agile ceremonies and ensuring timely delivery of milestones
  • Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, business analysts, testers, and business stakeholders to align project goals and execution
  • Manage Jira boards, sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog grooming
  • Track progress, remove blockers, and ensure clear communication across technical and business teams
  • Translate high-level data science concepts into actionable project plans and stakeholder updates
  • Support cross-functional collaboration and ensure alignment with marketing and customer strategy teams

Requirements:

  • 5–8 years of experience in project management and/or agile delivery
  • Strong understanding of Scrum methodology and hands-on experience with Jira
  • Familiarity with data science workflows, including modeling, experimentation, and deployment
  • Ability to understand and communicate high-level concepts in AI/ML, without needing deep technical expertise
  • Proven experience managing cross-functional teams and stakeholder relationships

Nice to have:

  • Experience in insurance, marketing analytics, or customer segmentation projects
  • Manager with technical experience is a must
  • Exposure to AI/ML, predictive modeling is a plus
  • Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM) or PMP certification
